Cost Engineer (Ref: 6B327WEB)
We are looking to recruit a Cost Engineer for an ongoing permanent role based in Aberdeen to provide commercial support and cost reporting to managers, directors and clients, in particular for projects by monitoring, measuring and reporting the cost status.

The role is also to ensure that accurate management information is produced on a monthly basis for the directors, managers and project engineers.

Candidates should possess the following:
  • Part or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA with experience in project control within the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Previous experience in commercial/ finance role
  • In depth understanding of commercial & cost control issues and associated cost management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with external parties and demonstrate assertiveness.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and fact-based decision making
  • Effective team contributor delivering against schedule driven targets and deadlines
  • Highly self motivated and demonstrate a high level of initiative
  • Well-organised individual with the ability to plan ahead
  • Experience of using MS applications, advanced Excel user, sage 200.
  • Flexible approach to work to meet the needs of the business.
  • Attainment of Competent Person profile
Task:

  • Responsible for trending costs and analysis and reporting of cost data associated with project status reports for clients and management.
  • Responsible for the cost control function on the project and will be interfacing directly with the project team and clients as required.
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting (with appropriate commentary) on the cost position of the project against the budgets to relevant managers
  • Liaison with operations and Project Teams to assess labour hours and cost forecasts
  • Liaison with Contracts Team for generation of monthly accruals and tie in to "actuals" reporting
  • Preparation of regular monthly accrual valuations and ensuring these are presented to clients in a timely and correct manner
  • Provide commercial support to project managers in the preparation of annual budgets and re-forecasts
  • Produce, monitor and check weekly time writing reports, include one against CTR hours
  • Prepare management accounts for review and approval of the Directors.
  • Assist in the preparation sales invoices
  • Prepare analysis reports to be issued to clients including variance analysis, invoice status, accruals , outstanding items , contract variation
  • Perform all tasks and prepare all information in accordance with the company's policies, processes and procedures
