CAN (Offshore) emerged as a mainstream inspection & non destructive testing (NDT) provider to the oil & gas industry with the award of several major term contracts in the UKCS.
In the last decade, CAN (Offshore) have become established as one of UK’s leading inspection contractors, largely as a result of our extensive range of non intrusive and specialist techniques which include, but are not limited to; radiography, ultrasonics, time of flight diffraction, thermography and corrosion mapping. Our inspection techniques are specifically designed to minimise intrusive inspections which are often postponed until planned shutdowns. Recognising this, CAN (Offshore) always strive to utilise non intrusive methods wherever possible, in order to conduct the enactment in a timely and cost efficient manner. This in turn maximises the recovery of the asset with minimal disruption to operations and without compromise to safety. Over the years, we have developed our enactment process to the provision of an extensive inspection management service. Our inspection management approach encompasses the entire project management of the inspection process ranging from planning, resource management, workscope and workpack compilation, enactment, data analysis, review and fitness for service assessments. CAN (Offshore) was awarded their first major inspection management contract 10 years ago, and we have continued to expand our technical capability to provide an inspection management process which serves the requirements of our clients today. As part of our commitment towards continuous improvement, we work closely with several NDT equipment manufacturers to constantly develop innovative technology and methods of best practice. CAN (Offshore) is a member of the British Institute of Non Destructive Testing (BINDT) and also the Harwell Offshore Inspection Research & Development Service (HOIS), which is a joint industry initiative involved in developing and improving products, techniques, and procedures.
