Onshore Inspection Engineer - (Ref: 6B406WEB)


As a major Inspection/Integrity Management Contractor in the North Sea and internationally dedicated to improving Asset Reliability. We are recruiting for the above position based in Aberdeen in our Technical Services Division. The successful candidates will possess relevant industry experience to provide support in the maintenance and update of all relevant Pipeline strategies and documentation on a client specific project.

Candidates should possess the following:
  • Based onshore to identify, plan and co-ordinate inspection related activities to accomplish an efficient inspection management system.
  • Analysis of anomalies and recommendations with regard suitability for continued service.
  • Ensure the 5 year plan is implemented and completed in an optimum manner. Formal report to be issued to Client when overdues and/or resource limitations are expected,
  • Maintain a live annual (long term) plan of inspection activities, updated at appropriate intervals, to ensure activities outwith Maximo workflow are captured and given appropriate planning to ensure their completion in an optimum manner.
  • Maintain a forward view on pipe work and vessel inspections to ensure capture in future vessels.
  • Ensure all inspection includes appropriate written instruction.
  • Management of vessel inspections ensuring optimum usage of non-intrusive technology.
  • Review and approve/reject requests for deferments. Strongly challenge request more than once for one deferment, thereafter, notice shall be made to the integrity engineer who shall ensure suitable risk assessments are in place,
  • Ensure a workpack, or other appropriate written instruction, is available for each activity at least 6 weeks before the schedule date.
Status: Staff
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Degree qualified in an engineering related discipline or, HNC/HND qualified with formal plant inspection training/qualification preferred.
  • UKAS Accreditation, RG2 Category 3, minimum.
  • Significant relevant industry and offshore experience
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of relevant onshore/offshore legislation, codes and standards associated with the in-service inspection of pressure systems, plant and equipment.
  • Working knowledge and experience of NDT and Specialist Inspection techniques.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
