Supporting Local Education in Cabinda

We’re proud to share that CAN West Africa (CWA) has made a meaningful impact on the community in Cabinda, Angola, by helping children gain access to vital education.

Over the past year, CAN West Africa has worked closely with the local community and authorities in Cabinda to rebuild the Simulambuco 1 primary school, which provides an essential learning space for approximately 250 children between the ages of 6-16.

This renovation project is more than bricks and paint, it's about unlocking potential and creating a safe, inspiring environment where children can thrive. By transforming this school we aim to spark long-lasting opportunities, empowering students, families and future generations. Every child deserves a chance to learn in an environment that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and hope, and we’re proud to help play a part in building that future.

The school was officially opened by her Excellency the Administrator Margarida Enriqueta de Oliveira Paulo, launching a new chapter in local education. Colleagues from across CWA and CAN Group joined the local community for a day of celebrations which included a traditional ceremony followed by a religious blessing and entertainment courtesy of the students.

Thank you to everyone involved for your support in making this all possible.

At CAN, we’re committed to making a positive contribution to lives of our personnel, supporting the communities across the geographical locations in which we operate, and protecting our environment for future generations.
