Business Development / Business Intelligence Coordinator

 

The CAN Group of companies are leading providers in Engineering, Integrity, Inspection and Maintenance solutions to the energy industry worldwide.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven Business Development / Business Intelligence Coordinator to join our Tender & Proposals team at our Aberdeen Headquarters. This role plays a key part in supporting business growth by identifying and developing opportunities across the organisation, alongside coordinating tender and proposal activities.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday; overtime may be required as well as nationwide travel. 

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities to drive sustainable growth across CAN’s Inspection, Trades, ENGTEQ, and VENTEQ business streams, including new market segments, customer groups, and geographic regions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support the implementation of the company’s sales and growth strategy, and contribute insights for continuous growth and improvements.
  • Maintain and optimise the company’s CRM system to ensure accurate pipeline tracking for sales forecasts and reporting.
  • Research and monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging demand.
  • Provide market insights and feedback on customer requirements to inform marketing and business strategies, working closely with the marketing team and key internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support the preparation of tenders, proposals, and commercial submissions as required to ensure competitive and compliant responses.
  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support marketing initiatives, campaigns, and events to enhance brand visibility and support lead generation.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote brand awareness and generate new business leads.
  • Actively contribute to team performance by sharing insights, proposing innovative ideas, and bringing diverse perspectives to problem-solving and decision-making.

 

Candidates should possess the following skills;

 

Essential

  • Scottish Highers (minimum 3 x Bs) or English A Levels minimum 2 x Bs and 1 x C or extensive related work experience
  • Vocational qualifications (in place of further or higher education)
  • Working knowledge of opportunities within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Demonstratable experience (2 years minimum) working in a tendering, marketing or business development / sales role
  • Experience of working with CRM systems, HubSpot or similar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to prioritise work in order to meet multiple deadlines

 

Desirable

  • Formal further or higher education qualification in a related discipline plus reasonable relevant experience
  • Vocational qualifications in a marketing discipline plus significant relevant experience
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry
