Can West Africa MRR Team

 

The CAN Group of companies are leading providers in Engineering, Integrity, Inspection and Maintenance solutions to the energy industry worldwide.

 

We are seeking dynamic and experienced professionals to join our Make Ready for Retirement (MRR) Team as part of an ongoing project supporting the operational readiness and shutdown planning of offshore assets targeted for decommissioning. These positions are based in Cabinda, Angola within our clients Asset Integrity & Turnaround department on a 28/28 rotational basis.

We’re currently hiring for the following key roles across planning, engineering, field coordination, and operational execution. Key Job Responsibilities (KJRs’) available upon request.

 

  • Project Engineer (6B1452):

Lead the development and execution of Make Ready work scopes. You’ll work across disciplines to ensure isolation, cleaning, verification, and readiness activities are delivered safely and on schedule. Responsible for managing work list items from start to finish, preparing technical information, and collaborating with Work Pack Writer for field instructions and standards.

 

  • Field Coordinator (6B1453):

Serve as the boots-on-the-ground face of the team, you’ll collaborate with the Project Engineer to prepare the field for execution. Responsible for coordinating work fronts offshore, supporting SIMOPS, and ensuring all MRR activities align with the plan and safety requirements. Will possess knowledge of operations and constructability, ensuring all field requirements are met.

 

  • Asset Retirement Planning (ARP) Planner (6B1454):

Analyse initial data to create and own the detailed integrated plan for retirement readiness. Monitor detailed schedules, ensure alignment with shutdown milestones, and work with engineering, operations, and project teams.

 

  • Operations Mechanical Technician (6B1455):

Support hands-on readiness activities, including equipment isolation, flushing, draining, and mechanical preparation tasks. Offshore experience and multi-discipline skills are highly desirable.

 

  • Work Pack Writer (6B1456):

Produce high-quality work packs and procedures to support field execution. You'll collaborate with engineers, planners, and offshore teams to ensure all tasks are clearly defined, risk-assessed, and ready for safe execution.

 

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

 

Desirable

  • Strong background in offshore operations, maintenance, or project engineering.
  • Proven experience in late life asset management or decommissioning preparation is preferable but not essential.
  • Deep understanding of process systems, mechanical isolation, SIMOPS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team player with the ability to work offshore as required and thrive in a collaborative, safety-first culture.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
