CAN Group Awarded Sector Safety Award and Sixth Consecutive International Safety Award

CAN Group has been recognised by the British Safety Council with two prestigious international industry awards for its efforts in ensuring workplace safety.

The Aberdeen headquartered business was awarded its sixth consecutive International Safety Award with Merit for its performance over the last year and a further Sector Safety Award in the highly competitive oil and gas category.

CAN Group secured the British Safety Council's International Safety Award after demonstrating its strong health and safety performance.

Innes Walker, Group Director, said: "Safety is our number one priority and to be recognised for our work in what is an extremely high-risk but safety conscious industry is something all our staff can be proud of. We have worked incredibly hard to build and sustain our impressive safety record".

"As the oil and gas industry looks to prolong the life of its ageing assets it is more important than ever for operators to ensure they are undertaking the safest and most effective approach to asset integrity. Our safety record combined with our ability to deliver a fully integrated and engineered inspection and integrity solution gives our customers the confidence they need."

Alex Botha, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, added: "All of those working at CAN have made these awards possible which recognises their dedication and commitment in preventing injury and ill health in the workplace. The criteria for our awards is challenging and that rightly reflects the importance of ensuring the risks of injury and ill health in the workplace are properly controlled."
