Integrity Beyond Asset Life

When offshore assets near the end of their operational lifespan, the importance of integrity assurance extends well beyond the cessation of production phase. At this latter stage in the asset lifecycle, the focus shifts from sustaining safe production operations to maintaining a safe and secure environment for decommissioning, dismantling and the removal phase of their lifecycle.

Having recently marked the significant milestone of 40 years in business, CAN Group is well versed in delivering trusted asset integrity solutions at all stages of the asset lifecycle. Over the years, CAN has gained extensive worldwide experience delivering inspection, integrity, mechanical and trades-based services, digital and integrated service solutions across a range of contracts, projects, campaigns and complex scopes. This experience has proven integral in supporting the transition to late life asset and decommissioning. Projects within the UKCS include the provision of integrated access solutions, rigging, cutting, welding, inspection and mechanical services for complex removal campaigns as primary support contractor to Tier 1 decommissioning specialists.

CAN Group’s technical and corporate competence is also particularly prevalent as Engineering, Preparations, Removal, and Disposal (EPRD) activities can present unique integrity challenges with assets either being partially decommissioned or operating outside of their original design intent. This can present evolving degradation mechanisms, increased dropped object risks, and a reliance on accurate, up-to-date integrity data to support safe dismantling.

This is where CAN’s trusted team of experts support its client base with a risk-led and fit for purpose approach. From streamlining inspection strategies, including Risk Based Assessments and Preventative Maintenance routines, visualising data for informed decision-making (digital twins, photogrammetry etc.), implementing find & fix / find & arrest solutions and Potential Dropped Object sweeps, our teams provide smart solutions for integrity assurance throughout all stages of the asset lifecycle.

With decades of experience, integrated capability, and a forward-thinking approach to late life integrity, CAN Group continues to be a trusted partner for delivering safe, efficient and insight-led asset integrity solutions.
