Corrosion Engineer

The CAN Group of companies are leading providers in Engineering, Integrity, Inspection and Maintenance solutions to the energy industry worldwide. 

We are recruiting for an experienced Corrosion Engineer to be based in Aberdeen at our client’s city centre office. The position will be full-time office based working within a major operator.

To that end we wish to hear from experienced industry professionals with a corrosion background and demonstrable skills in the areas of Corrosion Engineering, Integrity and Risk Based Assessments, Non-Intrusive Inspection, Fitness for Service Assessments and Data Analysis including using statistical tools.

Candidates should possess the following:

  • Degree/Post Graduate qualified in an engineering related discipline.

  • Chartered/Incorporated status desirable.

  • Extensive demonstrable experience working within Corrosion/Materials environment ideally in a Corrosion Management role.

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of relevant onshore/offshore legislation, codes and standards associated with the in-service inspection of pressure systems, plant and equipment.

  • Working knowledge and experience of NDT and Specialist Inspection techniques.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (particularly Word/Excel).

  • Demonstrable experience in RBA / CRA / WSEs.

  • Ability to use and experience of bespoke databases.

  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal / client facing skills.

  • Report writing experience with strong attention to details.

  • Ability to use initiative and direct and guide other team members.

  • Ability to travel offshore if/when required.
