Turnaround Project Engineer - Angola

We are seeking dynamic and experienced professionals to join our Turnaround Team as part of an ongoing project supporting the operational readiness and shutdown planning of offshore assets targeted for decommissioning. These positions are based in Cabinda, Angola within our clients Asset Integrity & Turnaround department on a 28/28 rotational basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful team delivering critical shutdown and turnaround activities in a dynamic offshore environment.

We’re currently hiring for the following key roles across planning, engineering, field coordination, and operational execution. Key Job Responsibilities (KJRs’) are noted below:

 

Turnaround Project Engineer (6B1469):

The Turnaround Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring engineering readiness across all assigned work scopes. This includes managing work instructions, material take-offs (MTOs), vendor coordination, compliance, QA/QC oversight, and supporting fabrication and procurement through the full lifecycle of the turnaround (TA) campaign. This is a unique opportunity to join a technically challenging turnaround programme, providing critical engineering oversight for high-value oil and gas infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate field walkdowns to confirm and define turnaround scopes.
  • Prepare and manage long-lead and bulk material MTOs, including validation and consolidation.
  • Oversee RFQs, POs, vendor queries, and fabrication contractor engagement.
  • Review and approve drawings (IFA), work packs, and procurement requests (PR/PO) in eProcurement systems (e.g., GEP SMART).
  • Supervise project engineering deliverables including work pack creation and materials procurement.
  • Coordinate with field execution teams to track progress, verify resource allocation, and ensure readiness of work packs and SD schedules.
  • Lead interface with contractors and internal planners to ensure timely material readiness.
  • Drive compliance with CABGOC/Chevron engineering standards, QA/QC protocols, and safe work practices.
  • Initiate and manage MOCs and respond to RFIs and technical queries.
  • Provide engineering support across turnaround core teams and work pack writers.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Turnaround Coordination or Shutdown Planning & Execution.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and locations.
  • Previous international field work experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of shutdown scope development, prioritisation, and field execution support.
  • Team player with the ability to work offshore as required and thrive in a collaborative, safety-first culture.
  • Degree or HNC/HND qualified in an engineering-related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong background in offshore operations, maintenance, or project engineering.
  • Engineering background with extensive experience in major turnarounds or capital projects within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of procurement systems, technical documentation, and international QA/QC standards.
  • Proven experience coordinating materials, vendors, and work pack reviews under high-pressure timelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, field contractors, and compliance requirements simultaneously.
