Inspection and Repair Cost Controller - Angola

We are seeking an Inspection & Repair Cost Controller, based onshore in Cabinda, Angola working on a 28/28 rotational basis.

The Inspection & Repair Cost Controller is responsible for maintaining financial control, visibility, and governance across all Inspection & Repair (I&R) activities. The role ensures all workscopes executed under the I&R department are properly budgeted, tracked, forecasted, and reported within approved cost frameworks. 

Working in close collaboration with Project Budget Holders, and departmental Team Leads, the Cost Controller manages cost actualisation, accruals, and variance analysis through the full work cycle — from budget formation and forecast revisions to AVO/VO (Additional/Variation Orders) management and closeout reconciliation. 

This position also provides financial support to the Inspection & Repair Manager and contributes to the accuracy of source-to-pay system entries (GEP SMART), ensuring compliance with client financial procedures and full cost traceability across all CWA execution teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support annual budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis for Inspection & Repair activities.
  • Track and manage invoices, POs, and AVO/VORs, ensuring compliance with approved budgets.
  • Maintain accurate resource and man-hour cost tracking across all jobs and campaigns.
  • Produce monthly cost performance and financial reports for management and client submission.
  • Work closely with client Budget Holders and CWA internal Commercial team to align financial data and reporting.
  • Monitor and reconcile material, labour, and logistics spend against contract and project limits.
  • Participate in review and close-out meetings, ensuring cost accuracy, governance, and documentation readiness.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in cost control tools, dashboards, and reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. 
  • 5 years related experience for cost management and project planning.
  • Experience with cost management systems such as SMART GEP , SAP or similar.
  • Experience in development and management of cost centres and charge codes. 
  • Advanced experience or certification with PowerBI and other MS Office applications. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modelling). 
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to consolidate and present data into clear financial summaries. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage AVO/VOR processes and cost reporting cycles. 
  • Understanding of contract types, labour coding, and cost recovery principles. 
  • Familiarity with procurement, contracting, and financial approval workflows. 
  • Certification or advanced training / experience with Primavera P6. 
  • Formal training or certification in cost control, project controls, or project management 
    desirable.
  • ERP system experience (Visions, SAP or similar) essential.
